Six o'clock, the start of the evening
For a lot of households six is dinner time, the hour the day's errands give way to the evening. Restaurants fill their first sittings, and gyms and kids' clubs hit their after-work peak.
In the US, six o'clock is the traditional slot for the local evening news, and a ten-hour shift that starts at 8 AM ends at 6.

6 PM questions
How many hours until 6 PM?
The tiles show the hours, minutes and seconds to 6 PM in your time zone, and the line under them gives the total in minutes. After 6 PM it counts to tomorrow evening.
Can the countdown remind me at 6?
Yes, while this tab is open: turn on “Ring at 6 PM” and a gentle chime rings until you press Stop. To keep several things on time at once, Multiple Timers runs them side by side.
Is 6 PM the same as 18:00?
Yes. On a 24-hour clock, afternoon and evening hours are the PM hour plus 12, so 6 PM is 18:00.
