How long should I set an egg timer?
Use about 6 minutes for soft boiled eggs, 8 minutes for jammy yolks, and 10 to 12 minutes for hard boiled eggs. Egg size and starting temperature can change the result.
Should I start the egg timer before or after boiling?
For the most consistent result, start the timer when the eggs go into already boiling water, then move them to cold water when the alarm sounds.
Can I adjust the timer while it runs?
