Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make the BRB timer restart for every break?
Leave “Restart every time the scene goes live” ticked. In OBS Studio 28 or later the overlay hears when its scene goes to program and starts over. In other apps, turn on the browser source’s option to refresh when the scene becomes active, if it has one.
Can I add time to a break that’s running long?
Yes. Right-click the source, choose Interact, click the timer and press ↑ or + for a minute, or hold Shift for five. A Stream Deck or Streamer.bot can do the same over obs-websocket.
Does it keep counting while I’m on another scene?
It keeps time in the background, so a break you switched away from early has still counted down. With the restart option on, it starts fresh the next time the BRB scene goes live.
Can I show a message instead of overtime?
Yes. Choose “Show the message” under At zero and the title switches to your message, like “Back any second”.
