Frequently asked questions
Is the countdown maker free?
Yes. There is no account, no ads and nothing to install. The countdown is stored entirely in the link, so it keeps working for as long as you keep the link.
Will people in other time zones see the right time?
Yes. A countdown with a time is pinned to your time zone by default, so a 3 PM ceremony in London reaches zero at 10 AM for a guest in New York. Choose “Each viewer's own local time” instead for things like New Year's Eve, where everyone should reach zero at their own midnight.
Can I count down to a birthday or anniversary every year?
Tick “Repeats every year”. The countdown rolls over to next year once the day is over, and if you enter the original date it shows the age someone is turning or which anniversary it is.
What happens when the countdown reaches zero?
Confetti, and a chime if sound is on. The page celebrates for the rest of the day; after that a one-off countdown turns into a count-up showing how long it has been.
