Which classroom timer should I use?▾

For calm activities — silent reading, independent work, regulation breaks — use the candle, sensory or sand timer. For pace and energy, use the bomb, race or rocket timer. For anything where the whole room needs an unambiguous signal, use the traffic light or progress bar. The visual dial is the general-purpose default.

Do these work on an interactive whiteboard or projector?▾

Yes. Each timer has a Fullscreen control that fills the display at whatever size the screen allows, so the drawing is readable from the back of the room. Press Esc to come back. Casting the tab to a TV works too — go fullscreen on the source machine after you cast.

Can I put one of these on my class blog or school website?▾

Yes. Every timer has a copy-and-paste embed code — a plain iframe with no script tag and no account — so it drops straight into a lesson page, a class blog, or a school site.

Are they free, and do students need accounts?▾

Free for everyone, with no advertising, no signup and nothing to install. That matters on a managed school device where installs are blocked and ad networks are filtered.

Is there sound?▾

An alarm plays when the timer reaches zero, and you can mute all sound with the speaker button in the header if you want a silent visual countdown — which is usually the right choice during a test or a calm activity.

Can I set a duration other than the presets?▾

Yes. Click the countdown under the drawing and type any time you want, or use the plus and minus buttons to adjust in one-minute steps while it runs.
