Study Timer with Music
A 45 minute study block with a coffee-shop or rain bed running underneath it.
Forty-five minutes is the length most revision guides land on: long enough to get past the setup phase of a topic, short enough that recall has not started to fall away. It opens on the coffee-shop bed because a low, wordless murmur measurably beats silence for most people working in a quiet room — but rain and brown noise are one tap away if you share a space with other people.
Space start/pause · R reset · +− adjust
Floating Picture-in-Picture needs a Chromium browser; this one doesn't support it.
Background sound
OffDistant murmur and occasional cup clinks. Plays while the countdown runs and fades out at zero, so the alarm is never buried.

About the Study Timer with Music
A free study timer with background music for revision, homework and exam prep. Starts at a 45 minute block with a coffee shop ambience, fades the sound out at zero, and never interrupts you with an ad.
TimerHub calculates remaining time from an absolute finish timestamp, so missed browser callbacks do not create drift. Read the timing accuracy methodology and reproducible tests.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long should a study block with music be?▾
Start at 45 minutes with a 10 minute break. If you keep drifting before the alarm, drop to 25 minutes and build up; if you are still deep in the material at zero, add time with the plus button rather than starting a fresh block.
Does music with lyrics hurt studying?▾
For reading and writing, yes — language competes for the same processing as the text in front of you. Everything here is wordless by design: filtered noise, weather and a slow instrumental pad, with nothing to sing along to.
Where does the music come from — is it a YouTube video?▾
Neither. Every background sound is generated live in your browser with the Web Audio API. Nothing streams, nothing buffers, there are no ads or mid-roll breaks, and the sound never loops back on itself because it is never the same two seconds running.
Does the sound stop when the timer finishes?▾
Yes. The background bed fades out over about four seconds as the alarm sounds, so you always hear the end of the countdown. Pausing the timer fades the sound out too, and resuming brings it back.
Can I use the background sound without the visual backdrop?▾
Yes. The backdrop is a separate toggle in the background sound panel. Turn it off for a plain black screen, or leave it on and switch to fullscreen for a full-screen rain window, starfield, or ember drift behind the countdown.
Will it keep playing if I switch tabs?▾
The countdown keeps running from an absolute finish time, so it stays accurate in a background tab. Browsers may throttle audio in hidden tabs, so keep the tab visible — or in a Picture-in-Picture float — if you want unbroken sound.
